As the clock ticks for the May 30 deadline set by INEC for conduct of party primaries ahead of 2027 elections, the opposition African Democratic Congress, ADC under the leadership of David Mark has released its official timetable for the exercise to nominate candidates.
In a statement signed by the ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, a structured fee regime has also been approved for nomination forms across all elective positions.
The timetable indicates that the process for the primaries is already underway with the collection of application forms which began on April 1 and will close on May 4, 2026.
Abdullahi notified the public that the sale of nomination forms is scheduled for May 5 to May 10, while submission of completed forms will take place between May 11 and May 13. The screening of aspirants is slated for May 14 and May 15, with results to be published on May 17.

The ADC spokesperson said that appeals will follow from May 18 to May 19, and the final list of cleared aspirants will be released on May 20. He stated that the primary elections will commence on May 21, with contests for State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate seats holding simultaneously at the ward level.
For the Governorship primaries, the party has fixed May 22, and the presidential primary will take place on May 25. The process will culminate in National Executive Committee, NEC meeting on May 26 while Special National Convention will hold on May 27, where final ratifications are expected.
The opposition ADC further announced the cost of nomination forms, pegging the presidential form at N100 million, governorship at N50 million, Senate at N20 million, House of Representatives at N10 million, and State House of Assembly at N3 million.
Abdullahi said the fee is in a bid to promote inclusivity as it introduced concessions to offer a 50% discount for youths as well as a 25% reduction for women and persons with disabilities.
It however called on aspirants and stakeholders to comply fully with the outlined guidelines, positioning the party as a platform for credible leadership as Nigeria prepares for the 2027 elections.
