Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio has been elected as President of the Senate.
Akpabio polled a total of 63 votes to defeat his rival Abdul’aziz Yari who scored 46 votes
The former Governor had also served as Minister of Niger Delta Affairs in the last administration and currently represents Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial zone.
