Sources from Dansadau town have told ait.live that the bandits stormed the community at about 2:30am and operated till around 5:30am.

The sources say the number of bandits who invaded the community could be between 300 to 500 and they came from different directions, shooting sporadically into the air to scare the people to enable them carryout their evil act.

The locals explained that the security operatives made tremendous efforts to repel the criminals but were overpowered due to the large number of the bandits and this resulted in the burning of the military armoured car.

Residents of the Dansadau town have deserted their community to seek refuge in other safer communities until normalcy returns to the area.

Friday is the market day in Dansadau but because of the attack there is no business.

When ait.live contacted the Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu to confirm the incident, he said he was currently working to get the details of the situation.
