A former Secretary to the Ekiti State Government in South-West Nigeria, Biodun Oyebanji has won the APC Governorship primaries to emerge the party’s flag bearer in the June 18 elections.
He defeated seven other aspirants to the direct primary election conducted on Thursday in all the 177 council wards of the state.
Oyebanji polled a total of 101,143 to defeat his closest challenger, Opeyemi Bamidele who scored 791 votes.

Bamidele and six other aspirants had earlier announced their withdrawal from the participating in the exercise after a violent protest at the state party secretariat alleging irregularities in favour of “anointed candidate” of Governor Kayode Fayemi
