The Joint National Public Service Negotiation Council has suspended the strike embarked upon by workers in the employment of the Plateau State Government with immediate effect.
The Union in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Joint Negotiation Council, Titus Malau and Timothy Gopep respectively at the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Secretariat in Jos on Friday, July 14, said their decision was informed by implementation of some of the terms of agreements reached with the government and the commitment made by Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang in addressing their demands.
The statement directs civil servants both at the local government and state levels to resume work on Monday, July 17.

The workers embarked on the indefinite strike on May 10 barely few weeks to the inauguration of the Governor Caleb Mutfwang Administration due to backlog of salary arrears and non-implementation of all promotions by the outgone administration of Simon Lalong.
While the strike has been suspended, the union leadership said it will continue to monitor the resolution of challenges observed with the payment of the March 2023 salary.
