Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa has tested positive for Covid-19. The Governor who made this known on his private Twitter handle also said the result of his wife was returned positive for the virus.

— Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa (@IAOkowa) July 1, 2020It will be recalled that their daughter tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday. Governor Okowa in his tweet said “We are well and continuing with our isolation and medication. We thank you all for your continued prayers for us and our daughter”.
Top government officials in the State including Secretary to the State Government, Chiedu Ebie and Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu have also contrated the virus.

Delta State so far has a total of 965 Covid-19 cases. The Governor recently wrote a personal letter to the residents appealing to them not to doubt the existence of the virus.
