The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has confirmed the arrest of the immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano.
EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwajuren says Obiano was arrested at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos while on his way to Houston, Texas USA.
Obiano handed over power to former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor and member of Presidential Economic Advisory Council, Professor Chukwuma Soludo in Awka, the state capital.

ait.live confirmed that Obiano was whisked away to the Lagos office of EFCC. You may recall that he has been on the watchlist of the anti-graft agency.
EFCC explains that Obiano was arrested because he has a case to answer.
