The National Common Entrance Examination, organised by the National Examinations Council, NECO, scheduled for Saturday, October 17 may be threatened by the ongoing #EndSARS protest across the country.

The examination which has been shifted as a result of the outbreak of Covid-19 is likely to encounter another threat as #EndSARS protesters block major roads in Abuja, Lagos and Benin among other state capitals.

According to a media invitation by the Federal Ministry of Education, the examination is billed to begin by 8am, but with #EndSARS protesters threatening to barricade roads all through the night, parents and guardians who may be accompanying their children and wards to the exams venues are likely to face movement challenges.

The National Common Entrance Examination is for Primary 6 pupils preparing to go into secondary schools.

As at the time of this report, the whole of the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Expressway, popularly known as Airport Road in Abuja and the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos are blocked, with passengers missing scheduled flights and motorists stocked on the roads.
