Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has resigned his membership of the ruling all progressives congress, APC. Obaseki made this known after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa.
This follows his disqualification from participating in the apc governorship primaries in Edo state ahead of the september 19 election.
Meanwhile, there are strong indications that Governor Obaseki will join the opposition people’s democratic party, PDP. The Edo State PDP chairman, Tony Azeigbemi confirmed to ait.live that Governor Obaseki, his deputy Philip shaibu, top government officials as well as prominent APC chieftains are set to join the party.
Azeigbemi says arrangements are ongoing to receive the governor and others into the PDP.
