Some women numbering over 90 from the Idumuje-Ugboko community, the hometown of Nigerian billionaire and politician, Ned Nwoko, have staged a peaceful protest over what they described as oppressive interference by Ned Nwoko in their lives.

The aggrieved Idumuje-Ugboko women from Aniocha-North Local Government Area of Delta State who besieged the Government House and the State House of Assembly in Asaba to lodge their complaints were seen with placards of so many inscriptions.

From the popular Ekumeku roundabout in Asaba, the Delta State capital, aged women from Idumuje-Ugboko, Aniocha-North Local Government Area began their peaceful protest to Government House and the State House of Assembly, to lodge their complaints to appropriate authorities over the alleged inhuman treatment from the billionaire and politician over their lands of inheritance, their husbands, and children as well as the widows.

While the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Flora Alatan, came out to address them on behalf of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, on their arrival at Government House, some alleged Pro Ned Nwoko came from nowhere and tried joining the women, perhaps, to sabotage the women’s primary mission.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, after an audience with the women, assured them of the Governor’s speedy intervention.

Thereafter, the aggrieved women also besieged the State House of Assembly to lodge their complaints.
