On monday, JUSUN led a nationwide protest, with support from members of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA to push home their demands.
Later on Monday evening the governors forum had called a meeting and proposed to begin implementation sometime within the year.
However, the Minister of labour and employment Chris Ngige as part of its ministry’s mandate to mediate and as head of the federal government team, called for conciliatory meeting with JUSUN and PASAN, but this was how it ended…
The meeting was scheduled to begin by 3 pm, but over an hour later the minister had not come out of another meeting in his inner office.
The minister however gives his own explanation.
The minister hopes the workers will honour another invitation on a later date
it is however not certain if the PASAN and JUSUN executive will honour an invitation as AIT could not get a reaction from either of them.
