The Traditional Ruler of the Izere Nation of Jos East in Plateau state HRH Rev. Isaac Wakili who was kidnapped by gunmen in the early hours of Friday has regained his freedom some hours after he was taken away.
The Executive Chairman of Jos East Council Area Ezekiel Izang, who confirmed the development said the Monarch was sighted on a mountain after he was abandoned by his abductors.
Izang said immediately after the monarch was abducted, community members including vigilantes, hunters and the Police were Mobilized for possible search and rescue of the monarch and had cordoned off the entire mountains in the area which according to him, is the reason why the abductors abandoned him.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Alabo Alfred, who also confirmed the release of the monarch said two suspects had been arrested in connection with his abduction and the investigation is already ongoing.
