The Daily Editor of Vanguard newspaper, Eze Anaba has been elected as the new President of Nigerian Guild of Editors, NGE, at the 2023 National Biennial Convention in Owerri, Imo State, South-East Nigeria.
Anaba polled a total of 250 votes to beat his only challenger, Bolaji Adebiyi who scored 81 votes. Adebiyi is the Executive Editor of Western Post newspaper but was until recently with the ThisDay newspapers.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director, News and Current Affairs of DAAR Communications PLC, Owhievbie Paulyn Ugbodaga was returned unopposed as Standing Committee Member (North) of Nigerian Guild of Editors.
Among others elected into the 14-member executive of the Guild are the Director of News in Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Husseina Bashika as Deputy President and Dr. Iyobosa Uwugiaren who was elected for a second term as General Secretary.
