Following renewed controversy between the Nigerian government and United States authorities over allegations of killings in Christian communities, the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has met with service chiefs and heads of intelligence agencies in Abuja.
AIT.live gathered that, the emergency meeting, which held at the National Counter Terrorism Centre, was convened to review intelligence assessments and examine the security and diplomatic implications of recent comments by U.S President Donald Trump alleging religious-based killings in Nigeria.
AIT.live source added that, the session focused on impact analysis, contingency planning, and measures to reinforce Nigeria’s sovereignty amid the growing international reactions to the genocide claims.
The meeting also reviewed ongoing counterterrorism operations and community protection strategies to ensure all faith groups are safeguarded under Nigeria’s laws.
Officials at the meeting were said to have agreed on the need for unified messaging by all security agencies and clear engagement through diplomatic channels.
