The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) has blamed government policy on Foreign Exchange as largely responsible for the astronomical rise in the price of petrol, irrespective of the cost of crude in the international market.
At a Media briefing in Abuja on Thursday, TUC President, Festus Osifo said that government must provide special FOREX for the energy sector, which will help reduce drastically the price of fuel.
Osifo also called on the Federal Government to issue licences to more marketers to access products from the Dangote Refinery
On the issue of palliatives promised the organised labour, the TUC President said some CNG powered vehicles have been received, observing however that they are too few to solve the high cost of transportation workers pay daily.
