President Buhari has approved the appointment of Professor Ibrahim Gambari as his new Chief of Staff.
AIT which has been banned from covering the Presidential Villa gathered that the Secretary to Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha announced the appointment shortly before commencement of the virtual Federal Executive Council, FEC meeting at the Council Chambers
Professor Gambari replaces the late Abba Kyari who died of Coronavirus on April 17 in Lagos where he was undergoing treatment for the infection.

Until his appointment, Professor Gambari was Special Adviser on the International Compact with Iraq and Other Issues to the United Nations Secretary-General.
The new Chief of Staff to the President who hails from Kwara State was Minister of Foreign Affairs when President Buhari was military Head of State between 1983 and 1986
