No fewer than13 persons have been reportedly killed by suspected armed herdsmen in Tse-Amgbem community close to Aondoana in Gwer West LGA of Benue state early Monday.
Gwer West Chairman Grace Igbabon who confirmed the unfortunate incident via telephone says several people were left injured with a couple of houses razed.

According to the chief security officer of the affected local council, survivors in their hundreds have been displaced and are currently taking refuge in Aondoana town.
Although the police public relations officer Benue state command, Sewuese Anene equally confirmed the attack she says details of the attack like those who perpetrated the attacks are still being awaited.
Statistics from the State emergency management agency SEMA reveals that Gwer-west, Agatu, Makurdi and Guma local government areas have witnessed more attacks in the last three weeks where over seventy persons have been killed by the suspected herdsmen unchecked.
