Tanzanian President, John Magufuli is dead. Vice President Samia Sulhu Hassan who made the announcement on state television said Magufuli died of heart complications at a hospital in Dar es Salaam.
The death of the 61-year old leader comes after about one week of speculations on his health and whereabouts.
Many reports had earlier said he contracted Covid-19 and was away from the office for treatment.
