Just In: Tinubu bows to pressure, appoints Niger Delta Minister

Less than 24 hours to the inauguration of Ministers-Designate, President Bola Tinubu has approved the redeployment of Abubakar Momoh from the Federal Ministry of Youth to the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Development. Meanwhile, the Federal Ministry of Youth is to be re-assigned to a Minister-Designate soon.

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale on Sunday, the Ministers-Designate allocated to the Federal Ministries of Transportation, Interior, and Marine and Blue Economy have been reshuffled as follows:

(A) Adegboyega Oyetola is redeployed as the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, while Bunmi Tunji-Ojo is reassigned as the Minister of Interior.

The President has also approved the redeployment of Sa’idu Alkali as Minister of Transportation.

The statement added that both Ministers of State in the Oil and Gas sector are now domiciled in the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources with Heineken Lokpobiri as Minister of State (Oil), Petroleum Resources and Ekperipe Ekpo as Minister of State (Gas), Petroleum Resources

The President has also approved the renaming of the Federal Ministry of Environment and Ecological Management as the Federal Ministry of Environment.

According to the statement all the aforementioned changes take immediate effect by the directives of the President.
