The Nigeria Football Federation NFF, has announced on it’s Twitter handle, the passing away of a one-time Chairman of the then Nigeria Football Association, Group Captain John Obakpolor (Rtd).
Obakpolor was the 24th Chairman of the Football Association from 1984 to 1987.
The late John Obakpolor, a respected Air Force officer, who also distinguished himself in the aviation sector as an Aeronautical Engineer, was the Chairman of the Technical and Administrative Panel, that investigated the 2012 Dana airline crash that killed all 153 people on board.
In a tribute, Sports Minister Sunday Dare described the late NFA boss as a great administrator and a fine gentleman.
