Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Abuja Federal High Court has signed the release order, setting Sunday Igboho’s aides free, 19 days after they were granted bail on August 4, 2021.
Justice Egwuatu also signed the Release Order of the four contested detainees, ignoring the persistent argument of the Department of State Service, DSS, lawyer Idowu Awo who alleged there is high level of complicity on their part.

The four detainees are : Amudat Habibat, Abideen Shittu, Jamiu Oyetunji, Bamidele Sunday.
The detainees’ lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, confirmed that the judge could not sign the Release Order of the other eight detainees because three of the sureties withdrew before concluding the process of perfecting the bail conditions of his clients.
The eight are: Abdulateef Ademola, Tajudeen Irinloye, Diekola Jubril, Ayobami Donald, Uthman Opeyemi, Olakunle Oluwapelumi, Raji Kazeem, and Taiwo Opeyemi, who are the 1st, 3rd ,4th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th, respectively.
Olajengbesi, however, said that the three sureties that pulled out would be replaced and the judge would sign their Release Order as well, he therefore urged the DSS to comply with the court order and release his clients immediately.
Justice Egwuatu had on August 4, granted bail to 8 of Sunday Igboho’s aides in the sum of 5million Naira each, and two sureties in like sum. One of the sureties should be a civil servant resident in Abuja, and also a property owner.
The court also granted bail to the 4 others in sum of 10 million naira each, and two sureties in like sum. Sureties must also be resident in Abuja, with one being a civil servant not less than grade level 12.
The four applicants are to appear at the DSS office every first Monday of the month, for three months, starting from September 1, 2021.
The 12 persons were arrested following a midnight raid on IGBOHO’s residence on the 2nd of July 2nd in which two persons were killed by officers of the Nigerian secret police
