The Catholic Good Shepherd Major Seminary in Kaduna is still grieving the tragic attack by terrorists that occurred on January 8, 2020.
During the incident, four seminarians were abducted, resulting in the death of Michael Ikechukwu, a 19-year-old seminarian from the Sokoto Diocese, who was killed for his faith.
At a press conference in Kaduna, the Rector of the Major Seminary, Reverend Father Joel Haruna, expressed worries over the death of the young seminarian, who lost his life in service to the Lord.
Father Joel commended the Kaduna State government and security agencies for their decisive actions in addressing the security challenges in the state.

Father Joel noted that since its establishment 25 years ago, the institute has remained a beacon of hope and a centre for priestly formation in northern Nigeria.
According to him, the seminary will continue to support governments at all levels in fostering unity, peace, and stability in Nigeria.
