The Kaduna State Government has flagged off free community eye surgery for the rural populace across the state.
The objective is to restore hope, dignity and opportunity to those marginalized by visual impairment.
The free community eye surgery is an initiative of the Kaduna State Government, with support from the Qatari Charity Fund, to deliver quality healthcare services to the citizens.
At least three thousand six hundred people from the three senatorial zones of Kaduna State are to benefit.
Kaduna State Commissioner for Health, Umma Ahmad, explains that the exercise would comprise six hundred surgeries and three thousand consultations, with free medication and distribution of eye glasses.
While thanking the Qatari government for the support, Governor Uba Sani urged the citizens to take full advantage of the initiative to improve their eye health.
Governor Uba Sani reiterated that healthcare is not a privilege but a right for every citizen of the state, and reassured health workers that their welfare is a priority, under his administration.
