Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani

The Kaduna State Government has commenced the renovation of Sir Patrick Yakowa Memorial General Hospital in Kafanchan, marking the first refurbishment in 20 years.

Governor Uba Sani said that the initiative is part of his SUSTAIN agenda, aimed at improving healthcare delivery across the state.

The renovation is part of Governor Uba Sani’s efforts to address critical issues in the hospital’s infrastructure, including design faults, drainage, patient and staff flow, infection prevention, and energy efficiency.

The project began in April 2024, with a mandate to bring the hospital up to international standards.

The renovation is intended to reduce the need for residents to seek medical care in neighboring states, by enhancing the quality and capacity of local healthcare facilities.

Governor Uba Sani, who was represented by Dr. Abdulahi Ahmed, Managing Director of the Kaduna State Agency, also inspected ongoing road projects in Kafanchan.

He affirmed the state government’s commitment to completing the road projects timely.

Governor Sani’s administration is also working on remodeling, reconstructing, and re-equipping six general hospitals across the state, with a focus on sustainability, through the use of renewable energy sources, and ensuring long-lasting infrastructure improvements.
