No fewer than five million Kaduna residents of the Muslim and Christian faiths have embarked on a one-day state-wide prayer and fasting, to seek divine help, over the spate of insecurity and other socio-economic challenges in the state.
Clerics from the Muslim and Christian faiths who spoke during the prayer session, said the worsening state of insecurity in Kaduna, necessitated the desire for God’s help.
An All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant, Sani Sha’aban, said seeking divine intervention is necessary if Kaduna is to be salvaged from the calamity that has befallen it.
The prayer and fasting took place simultaneously across the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State, and it is also organised to pray for the peaceful conduct of the 2023 elections.
