Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has signed the 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, approving a budget of Nine hundred and eighty five point nine billion naira aimed at consolidating development gains and strengthening the foundation for sustainable growth in the state.
Governor Sani said the spending plan is both ambitious and deliberate, with six hundred and ninety eight point nine billion naira, representing over 70 percent of the total budget, allocated to capital expenditure.
He explained that the allocation is targeted at critical infrastructure development, economic expansion, and improved service delivery across key sectors of the state economy.
Recurrent expenditure stands at two hundred and eighty seven billion naira, accounting for just over twenty nine percent of the budget, to ensure efficient government operations and uninterrupted public service delivery.
The Governor noted that the budget addresses long standing development gaps through an inclusive approach, with one hundred million naira allocated to each ward in the state for community driven projects at the grassroots.
Governor Uba Sani added that the 2026 budget reflects fiscal discipline, as the state government introduced no new loans after spending one hundred and fourteen point nine billion naira on debt servicing, reinforcing its commitment to responsible financial management.
