21 passengers have been reported missing, following the attack on the kaduna bound train on Monday.
The Nigerian railway corporation NRC, made this known in a statement issued this Saturday while updating the public on the Monday night incident which claimed 8 passengers lives, and left about 41 injured.
The NRC said the number was generated by the record of calls received from relations of those reported missing.

The statement further indicated that a total of 170 passengers have been confirmed safe, following continued interactions with the passengers and relations whose phone numbers are on the travel manifest. It also recalls that 362 passengers boarded the 10 coaches on the fateful evening.
The NRC added that it is collaborating with the security agencies who had already swung into action to ensure the rescue of those missing, while steps are being taken to rerail the damaged portions of the tracks for timely resumption of rail transportation services on the corridor.
