The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP has described Friday’s ruling by the appeal Court sacking the governor of Kano state ,Abba Yusuf as miscarriage of justice, and promised to challenge the verdict at the supreme court.
The national chairman of the party, Abba Kawu-Ali said this at a briefing in Abuja on Saturday.
He said NNPP and the people of Kano state reject the outcome of the appeal court , and called on the ruling All Progressives Congress APC to save democracy in Nigeria by halting moves aimed at silencing opposition political parties.

NNPP expressed shocked by the judgment it said was anchored on the belief that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was not a member of the NNPP.
The party called on Nigerians to intervene in the Kano situation, saying it is increasingly becoming the test case for the survival of democracy in Nigeria and the credibility of the judicial system.
