The Nigeria Customs Service, has handed over four hundred and thirty-one thousand seized parcels of tramadol tablets worth over one hundred and fifty million naira to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control.
Kano-Jigawa Area comptroller of Customs Abubakar Dalhatu, said the intake of narcotics is a major influencer of insecurity in Nigeria which must be checked along the border corridors.
The packets of tramadol tablets, listed as contraband in Nigeria, were smuggled into Nigeria with the aid of tented sport utility vehicle, but were intercepted by officials of the Nigeria customs at the border in Jigawa state.

While handing them over to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and control in Kano state, Customs Area Comptroller Dalhatu Abubakar, calls for a collective fight against illicit substances by all Nigerians.
Dalhatu says the negative effects of substance and drugs dependance by Nigerians is devastating, especially on national security.
