Kano State Deputy Governor, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has resigned his appointment as Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources.
The Deputy Governor in a statement thanked the Governor for the opportunity given to him to serve twice as Commissioner, making him the longest-serving Commissioner of Agriculture in the country.

He said his resignation as Commissioner is to further his political career. This will not be unconnected with the Section 84(12) of 2022 Electoral Act that makes it mandatory for political appointees to resign from office before seeking the nomination of their political parties.
