A talented, young girl, Saratu Garba, has captured the hearts of many Nigerians and the global community with her skills in mathematics.
Saratu resides in a remote village in the Gaya Local Government Area of Kano State.
Our correspondent was in Gaya where he met with the 11-year-old Saratu, who shared her dream and desire to see that her community is provided with basic amenities.
“After about two hours drive from Kano, we arrive Gaya Local Government Area, enroute to Gwadayi, in search of the talented, young mathematician, Saratu.
Gaya Local Government is one of the 44 local government areas in Kano State.
And deep inside the local government is a village called Gwadayi.
Here we are in Gwadayi, welcomed by the people of the community.
Before us is Saratu, the talented 11-year-old mathematician, who can solve numerical questions instantly, without the aid of a calculator.
Saratu wants the government to come to the aid of her community by building a befitting school for them, constructing their roads, fixing their electricity and providing potable water.

Her Father, Abubakar Garba, says right from childhood, they discovered that she is good in Mathematics.
He also pleads for government intervention in the community.
Our check round the village truly shows that they lack basic amenities, as the community has only two classrooms.
“This is one of the two classrooms in the village which has no chairs for pupils to sit.”
But for Saratu, she is currently enrolled in a better school, under a scholarship that will see her through university.
Residents of Gwadayi community in Gaya Local Government Area of Kano State, say they have more than 500 children who need quality education.
This implies that there may be many Saratus yet to be discovered.
