Hajia Binta Lawal Ahmad is the new Head of Service of Kano State Civil Service, the first woman to be appointed in the history of the service of the state.
She replaced Dr Kabiru Shehu who was reappointed in acting capacity after completion of his years in the service.
A statement signed by Abba Anwar, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, said the Governor approved the appointment of the substantive Head of Service and five special advisers.
Until her appointment, she was the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce, mines and Industries.
The appointment takes immediate effect.
