Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has directed the immediate resumption of construction of the long-abandoned Janguza-Kabo-Karaye road, marking a significant step towards addressing critical infrastructural challenges in the state.

The directive was announced in a statement issued by the governor’s Spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, following a Sallah homage visit by the Emir of Karaye to Governor Yusuf

The Janguza-Kabo-Karaye road was originally initiated during the administration of former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso but was left incomplete and abandoned throughout the eight-year tenure of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

In a move to rectify this neglect, the Kano State Executive Council recently reviewed and re-awarded the contract, granting all necessary approvals for immediate work to resume.

This decision underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring the completion of vital road networks that connect key economic and cultural hubs in the state.

Beyond infrastructure, Governor Yusuf’s administration is prioritizing security and community development.

As part of this broader strategy, well-equipped police divisions have been established in Falgore and Zarewa to curb rising security threats in these areas.

Additionally, the government is set to construct a modern stadium in Karaye, which will serve as a major sporting facility and host a competition between the executive arm of government and the Karaye Emirate.

This initiative aims to promote youth engagement, unity, and talent development within the region.

Governor Yusuf’s proactive approach to reviving abandoned projects sends a strong message that governance must prioritize continuity and service delivery over political disputes.

The renewed focus on long-overdue infrastructural projects signals a new era of accountability, progress, and people-centered leadership in Kano State.

Earlier in his submission, the Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Muhammad Muhammad Maharaz spoke at length on the committement of the Emirate in ensuring peace and development that include organizing a maiden town hall meeting; interfacing with religious clerics and re-invigoration of the Emirate security committee among others.

He appreciated Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s giant srides in developing the state; pledged the support and co-operation of his people to the present administration for the betterment of the State.
