Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, confirms total payment of N32 billion out of the N42 billion in gratuities, pensions, and death benefits inherited by his administration.

Governor Yusuf made this known during the disbursement of another N5 billion to beneficiaries on Wednesday, assuring that the remaining balance will be fully settled before the end of his first term.

The open space at the Government House in Kano came alive once again as pensioners and families of deceased workers gathered at the courtyard to receive their gratuities, pensions, and other entitlements.

Governor Yusuf acknowledged the challenges involved but emphasised that a significant N32 billion has been paid within two years.

The Nigeria Union of Pensioners, represented by its Deputy National President, Abdullahi Onuh, describes Governor Yusuf as a promise keeper, expressing confidence that pensioners would reciprocate his efforts with support in 2027.

Beneficiaries were drawn from all the 44 local government areas of the state, including families of deceased workers, who expressed joy as they received the death benefits of their loved ones
