The Kano State government has dismissed insinuations in some quarters that the establishment of the newly created Anti-Phone Snatching Marshal is a duplication of existing security outfits in the state.
Commissioner for Internal Security, Air vice Marshal Ibrahim Umaru Retired, made the clarification in an exclusive chat with AIT’s Enemona Ocheme, following questions raised by some residents who sought to understand the mandate of the new security initiative.
The second batch of over five hundred anti-Phone Snatching Marshal have arrived camp for their two weeks training after the first set of three hundred and eighty left last this arena last Sunday, with some curious residents seeking clarifications on the operations of the marshals.

Air Vice Marshal Umaru and the commandant of the institute, captain Mohamed Bello retired agreed that the ongoing renovation, reconstruction and upgrade of facilities at the institute underscores the governors determination to improve training for security agencies with expected outcomes.
With these over five hundred recruits already into their training for one week, the governor is expected to review the passing out parade of about one thousand marshals in the coming weeks with more sanity expected on the streets of Kano.
