A one-day training for field officers who will carry out biometric data capturing exercise for civil servants and political appointees into the Kano integrated Personal and payroll systems (KIPPS), has ended at the Government House, Kano with a call on civil servants to take the exercise seriously.

Secretary to the Government of Kano State, Abdullahi Bichi while speaking at the training and distribution of enrollment materials to field officers, said government is determined to have reliable data to enhance planning of government activities.

After a successful flag-off of the Kano integrated Personal and Payroll System (KIPPS), with Governor Abba Yusuf as the first enrollee on the platform, attention has now shifted to the Ministries, Department and Agencies.

The Kano State SSG, Abdullahi Bichi explained that the essence of the integrated system is to come up with reliable data with which government can allocate resources.

While the State Accountant General, Abdulqadir Abdulsalam spoke on the benefits of the KIPPS to the civil servants, the Commissioner for Finance on the other hand believes that more money will be saved after weeding out ghost workers through the KIPPS enrollment exercise.

The organised Labour in the State has welcomed the initiative, and urged workers to key into the programme.

ait.live reports that, in attendance at the training programme and distribution of gadgets for the enrollment exercise were Union leaders under the organized labour in the state, representatives of Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government.
