The Kano State chapter of the Nigeria medical Association has commended the state governor, Abba Yusuf for improved welfare packages to them and his investment in the health sector, especially the fee health care services for women and children.
The medical union who visited the governor at the Kwankwaso city in appreciation of his investment in the sector, assured him of their support to provide quality health services to residents of the state.
Sometimes in 2024, members of the Kano state chapter of the Nigeria medical association, appealed to Governor Abba Yusuf requesting for an upward review or their remuneration and other welfare packages, to enable their members function optimally in their respective places of primary assignment.
Months later, the medical doctors came to appreciate Governor Abba Yusuf, with an award for not only granting and implementing their demands, but also ensuring improved infrastructure for the health sector.
The doctors expressed gratitude to the governor for the free medical initiatives for women and children in the state.
Governor Yusuf noted that the award and others recently received are motivating factors for him to do more.
The doctors are also happy with the training of some medical scholars, some who recently returned from India and the appointments of medical doctors as commissioners in Kano State.
