The Assistant Inspector General of Police in Charge of Zone I Kano, AIG Umar Sanda, says one of the worshippers affected by the fire incident at a Mosque in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State is dead.
The AIG disclosed this when he led a delegation of security personnel, including the Commissioner of Police in the State and the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), to the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, Kano, where the injured are being treated.

A resident identified as Shafiu Aminu set the Mosque on fire in a village in Gezawa Local Government Area.
The incident occurred when members of the community were observing the early morning prayer.
