Death toll from the reported arson in Kano State by an aggrieved 38-year-old man, Shafiu Abubakar, has risen to 13 people, while others are struggling for survival in the hospital.
Chief Medical Director, CMD of Murtala Mohammed General Hospital, Hussaini Muhammad, made this known when he received the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, who visited survivors on admission.

It could be recalled that the attack came as a result of a family dispute over the sharing of inheritance, which led to the grief and death of many in a community on the outskirts of Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
