The chairman of the assembly’s committee on Information and member representing Katsina constituency, Ali Al-Baba confirmed the development to ait.live

According to him, the late lawmaker died in Madina, Saudi Arabia while on Umrah which is the lesser Hajj at about 2am, October 10, Nigerian time.

He added that, the assembly is on recess but holding a workshop in Kano with arrival slated for October 10.

Al-Baba also added that, they have decided to visit Bakori and Kurami’s hometown to condole with his immediate family as the late lawmaker, will be buried in Madina today according to Islamic rites.

Late Dr. Kurami who is presently representing his Bakori constituency in the Assembly under the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, also won his return bid for the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

Kurami was elected into Katsina State House of Assembly in a by-election conducted on October 31, 2020, following the death of his predecessor, Abdurrazak Ismail Tsiga.

Recall that, on September 5, 2021 terrorists abducted Kurami’s first wife and 2 sons who later regained freedom after some days in captivity.

He is survived by two wives, 11 children and three grandchildren.
