About 11 elderly women have been reportedly abducted from their village in Shimfida by terrorists operating in Jibiya Local Government Area of Katsina State while fleeing from the attackers.
The attack was said to have occured late Friday night, March 11.
A local source who pleaded anonymity said, the women were abducted on their way to join other residents who earlier ran to a refugee camp for safety.
According to him, those abducted lacked the capacity to leave at the time most residents fled to safety due to their physical strength and some health conditions.
This is coming less than 24 hours after seven children were killed, and several others injured in a stampede as residents were also fleeing Shinfida village following an attack by terrorists.
Residents have blamed this development on the evacuation and withdrawal of soldiers serving in a joint security task force from the area.
