The Katsina State Government has promised to provide succour to persons affected by the fire which gutted the central market in the state capital.
Governor Aminu Masari made the promise shortly after visiting the market for an on the spot assessment of the damage done by the inferno.

He said, plans are underway to compensate the victims of the fire, discover the root causes and take steps to avert a future occurrence.
More than 200 shops were affected by the fire which swept through the market on Monday morning with property worth billions of naira destroyed.
