The command also stated that it is worth mentioning that, one of the core functions of the Nigeria Customs Service is trade facilitation, as such, Jibiya is a local government in Nigeria, entitled to free trade and movement of goods and services, from all parts of the country.
The statement, therefore, said it is appealing to the general public to desist from spreading misleading information on social media platforms.
It added that the Nigeria Customs Service is always ready to bring to book, any officer that operates contrary to its standard operating procedures, as enshrined in its book of instruction.
The swift reaction it said, is meant to avert further crisis that is not connected to the August 9 accident, involving the operatives of the Nigeria Customs Service, where 10 persons were killed, while 20 others sustained injuries
