Wife of Katsina State Governor, Hadiza Masari, has promised girls in the state a brighter future, assuring them of the needed support for their education, empowerment and development.
Masari who made this known during an event organised by Save the Children International to mark the 2022 International Day Of The Girl-Child, also called on parents, especially the fathers, to take the education of their girl-child seriously, to make them better mothers in the future.

The school girls drawn from different local government areas of the State were educated in an interactive session, on the successes and challenges women face, as they grow in the society. They were also mentored on steps to the future, by some successful and known personalities in Katsina State.
While the session lasted, the school girls during their chat with the wife of the Governor used the theme of the celebration, “Our Time Is Now- Our Rights, Our Future,” to voice out some challenges they face in school, ranging from insecurity, infrastructure and educational materials.
Wife of the Governor in her remarks promised to look into all the concerns raised, to make the girl-child better equipped, and ready to take their places in the future.
Katsina State Advocacy And Communication Coordinator of Save the Children International, Murjanatu Kabir, said being the 10th anniversary of marking the International Day Of The Girl-Child, the need to drum support for girls cannot be over-emphasised, especially on issues that concern their development.
She, therefore, called on the government at all levels, to keep supporting issues that concern children, to enable them to develop with the current state of the country.
