Katsina Governor sets fresh task for Journalists on Security

Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari wants Nigerian journalists to use the power of information dissemination available to them to bring about peace and stability in the country.

The governor made the call in Katsina during a security awareness seminar for Media Practitioners, Local Government Information Officers, and users of the social media operating in the 34 local government areas of the state.

He also urged the seminar participants to use their media to deescalate crime in the society. calling on them not to allow events overtake them, and make the extra effort to report objectively.

Governor Masari said his administration remains committed to partnering with the conventional media,, and cautioned social media users against misuse of the information platforms by uploading posts capable of fuelling crises.

The convener of the seminar and Special Adviser to the Katsina State Governor On Security Matters, Ibrahim Katsina said the seminar is aimed at bringing critical players in the information sector in the state to chart new information that will enable the state win its current war against banditry
The theme of the seminar is, “Enhancing Security In Katsina State, Through Professional Journalism.
