The Katsina State government has banned the movement of Commercial Motorcycles and Tricycles (Keke NAPEP) in the state from 8 pm to 6am in 19 local government areas prone to terrorists attack.

The 19 LGAs are Sabuwa, Dandume, Funtua, Faskari, Bakori, Kankara, Danja, K’afur, Malumfashi, Musawa, Matazu, Danmusa, Safana, Dutsinma, Kurfi, Charanchi, Jibiya, Batsari and Kankia.

A statement by the commissioner for internal security and home affairs, Dr. Nasiru Danmusa said the measure is a result of the recently signed security challenges containment order by governor Dikko Radda in July.

The order also includes that, all Lorries and Trucks carrying firewood and cattle from the forest are banned, while the sales of Cattle at Safana, Danmusa, Kankara, Batsari, Faskari, and Sabuwa local government areas, have also been suspended indefinitely.

Danmusa added that clearance must be sought from the District, Village, or Ward Head on transportation of Cattle from Katsina State to any other State in Nigeria.

He said the Katsina local government which is located within the state capital, is not affected by the ban.

Danmusa urged the public to understand that the sole purpose of the order is for the restoration of permanent peace in the affected areas.

Recall that before now, 13 out of the 34 local government areas of Katsina state were bedeviled by the activities of terrorists during the previous administration
