Special Adviser to Governor Aminu Masari on security matters Ibrahim Katsina who stated this while interacting with journalists in his office noted that the key to overcoming banditry and other insecurity faced by the nation is through collaboration and partnership.

Katsina while noting the high level of professionalism exhibited by the joint security forces said their efforts, is translating into an acceptable security situation in the state which is gradually returning to normalcy.

According to him, “In this regard, we wish to acknowledge with satisfaction the efforts of the military and other security forces in the gradual restoration of peace and security in the affected areas hoping that, the tempo will be sustained so that sooner than expected Banditry will be a thing of the past in the state”.

The security adviser also added that the efforts of the media in the fight against banditry is appreciated saying that their enlightenment of the public on the menace and the danger of collaborating with or harbouring the criminals is highly appreciated”.

Katsina further noted that, in spite of the pockets of challenges to the security operations, most of the affected communities have gradually gone back to farms and going about their normal activities which has isolating the criminals and giving hope to communities to go back to normal life.

He also stressed that, there are high hopes that the remaining IDPs will very soon go back to their homes and continue their normal lives, Katsina call on members of the public to shun all forms of inducement to go into crimes, which does not pay.
