Katsina Insecurity: Terrorists abduct 6 Wedding guests, 2 others

Terrorists operating in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State, have launched an attack abducting 6 guests at a wedding.

The victims of the abduction are said to be relatives of an All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship aspirant in the just concluded primaries, Umar Tata.

A source within the area said, among the 6 abductees is the sister of the former governorship aspirant alongside her children.

AIT news gathered that since the gruesome murder of the Area Commander of Dutsinma, Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Aminu Umar, the activities of terrorists have become worse.

Similarly, terrorists on Sunday, August 21 also abducted 2 women working with Africa Radio Drama Association, ARDA.

A source who confirmed the incident said the abduction occurred in the Batsari Local Government Area, and gave the names of the two women as Janet and Margret, working as Field Officers of the association.

According to him, the women were earlier in Batsari town, where they attended an event.

He said it was while returning to Katsina after the event that they were abducted, when the terrorists, intercepted their vehicle.

When contacted, the Police spokesman, Superintendent Gambo Isah, confirmed the incident.
