The Police in Katsina say, they have, in the early hours of Friday repelled a terrorist attack on 2 Villages of Gidan Nasheku and Kwantakwamawa in Kankara Local Government Area of the state, rescuing four kidnap victims.
In a statement by the spokesman of the Police, Superintendent Gambo Isah, the feat was achieved following a distress call from the two villages.
He added that, during the attacks, the terrorists kidnapped four members of a household, all-female, one of them having a one and half-year-old baby.
Isah said, the Divisional Police Officer of Kankara led a team of policemen to the area and engaged the terrorists in a gun duel.

According to the statement, they fled, while all the kidnapped persons were rescued unhurt.
Isah further added that some of the terrorists were reasonably suspected to have fled the scene with gunshots wounds, as a team of policemen are presently scanning the scene to arrest the terrorists or recover their dead bodies.
He said that investigation is ongoing.
