Reactions have continued to trail the 3 major recent attacks in the country, where the advance convoy of President Muhammadu Buhari, heading to Daura, his home town was attacked, and the ambush by terrorists led to the death of the Area Commander of Dutsinma, Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Aminu Umar, and the attack on Kuje Maximum Prison.

The respondents described the attacks as unfortunate, saying the Federal Government has failed woefully in providing security to the Nigerian people,
making the country to be under terrorist siege.

Two of these attacks took place in Katsina while the third was in Abuja.

The first was the terrorists ambushing and killing of an Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Aminu Umar, who was also the Area Commander of Dutsinma when he led his men on a clearance mission in Zakka Forest of Safana Local Government Area.

While the people were about to get over the shock, an advance convoy of President Muhammadu Buhari, heading to Daura his home town was attacked in Dutsinma, while the third was a night attack on the Kuje Maximum Prison.

The Northwest Coordinator of the Coalition of Northern Groups, Jamilu Charanchi, The Chairman of Coalition of Civil Society Organizations, Abdulrahman Abdullahi and an online publisher, Danjuma Katsina, all attributed the attacks to the failure of governance under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

They want an overhaul of the nation’s security architecture and provision of the security agencies with modern tools and technology, saying the locals should form security committees, to defend themselves.

At present, Katsina State seems calm, as the people are going about their normal activities.

The late Area Commander has been buried, even as the people expect the President’s visit.
